There was once a beautiful girl called Lettuce in a land called Twinkle. She was named so because as a baby she loved eating lettuce. She had long, curly hair, light brown eyes and a face so innocent and delicate that she was called the angel of that land. If there was something that was inseparable from her,it was her best friend-Michikua,the maid of her house. Michikua was a very clever, witty girl who did not let the angel out of her eyes at all.
Besides this land was the dark, spooky land called Wichivicia that was full of witches, dragons, bats, ghosts and all kinds of creepy-crawlies. The head of the land-yyowishsh was an ugly witch with two crooked noses but other features resembled that of a fat woman. He rode his broom with his driver-the thin, bony dog Jinikachkach who had a long tail that flew in the air as they rode on their broom.
Yyowishsh had a very bad urge to marry Lettuce and so one night kidnapped her. Michikua was shocked to see her friend being snatched away from her and thought she had to do something fast. She knew that Yyowishsh lived in a giant shoe in the heart of Wichivicia. Lettuce was as calm as ever and was confident that Michikua would rescue her. She stood waiting for her just below the opening of the shoe.
Michikua had now arranged all that she needed for her trip—loads of goodies and drinks. She left for the big shoe in Wichivicia. Outside the shoe was Jinikachkach looking for scraps of food. She fed him well and he licked her and let her in. She humbly requested Yyowishsh to accept her as his servant and promised to make all arrangements for their marriage. He accepted her and all of them in Yyowishsh’s shoe partied on the occasion of the announcement of their marriage with the goodies and drinks brought by Michikua. They ate and drank to their hearts content and thus dozed off soon.
Michikua and Lettuce immediately ran out of the shoe. Jinikachkach rushed to Michikua and licked her. She told him that they had to leave immediately. Jinikachkach ran and came back with the magic broom. Both of them sat on the broom and he carried them back to their house and they all lived in Twinkle land happily ever after.
